Armored Collective provides chauffeured armored SUV rental in Querétaro, operating B4 to B5 Chevrolet Suburbans and Cadillac Escalade ESVs with vetted security drivers across the city and the Bajío. Querétaro is the centre of Mexico's aerospace and advanced manufacturing corridor, and the booking pattern here is almost entirely industrial.
Most movements are plant visits and supplier audits, which means multi-stop days across several facilities are more common than point to point transfers. The second pattern is Querétaro as an alternative entry point to central Mexico: the airport is increasingly used by anyone whose business is in the Bajío, because it avoids the Valley of Mexico entirely.
Querétaro Intercontinental (QRO) sits east of the city and serves commercial traffic alongside a growing private aviation operation and a substantial cargo business. It is typically twenty-five minutes from the centro.
Mexico City's airports are a realistic alternative for anyone whose itinerary suits them, with an overland leg of roughly three hours from Benito Juárez.
| From | To | Typical | Peak |
|---|---|---|---|
| QRO | Centro histórico | 25 min | 40 min |
| QRO | Juriquilla | 35 min | 50 min |
| QRO | El Marqués industrial | 15 min | 25 min |
| Centro | Juriquilla | 25 min | 40 min |
| Querétaro | San Miguel de Allende | 60 min | 80 min |
| Querétaro | Guanajuato | 130 min | 155 min |
| Querétaro | León | 120 min | 145 min |
| Querétaro | Mexico City | 180 min | 240 min |
The drive from Querétaro airport to the centro histórico typically takes about twenty-five minutes. Querétaro to San Miguel de Allende typically takes about an hour and is a common day booking.
The centro histórico, Juriquilla, El Refugio, Milenio and Corregidora, and the industrial parks at El Marqués, Colón and Santa Rosa Jáuregui. San Miguel de Allende, Guanajuato, León and Celaya are covered as intercity movements.
Industrial gate procedures rather than traffic govern the timing. A supplier audit has a fixed window, site access takes time, and a multi-stop day needs realistic gaps between facilities. We plan to the facility's schedule.
Highway 57 connects Querétaro to Mexico City and to San Luis Potosí and carries heavy freight. It is the main artery for the whole corridor and an incident on it has an outsized effect, because the alternatives add substantial time.
San Miguel de Allende is close enough that it is routinely added to a business trip, and its narrow cobbled centre restricts where a full-size vehicle can go. We confirm the drop point rather than assume it.
The aerospace and manufacturing event calendar drives demand, along with the audit season. San Miguel de Allende's festival calendar, particularly around the autumn independence celebrations and Day of the Dead, draws additional movement from Querétaro.
Private security in Mexico is regulated federally through the Secretaría de Seguridad y Protección Ciudadana with state requirements in Querétaro, and interstate operation requires federal registration. Ask any provider to show it, particularly for Bajío movements that cross state lines routinely.
The Mexican commercial scale begins at Nivel III, covering handgun threats including .44 Magnum, roughly equivalent to B4 under EN 1063. Armored Collective operates B4 and B5 and supplies the certificate for the assigned unit.
Armored Collective runs one vehicle platform type deliberately. The armored Chevrolet Suburban and the bulletproof Cadillac Escalade ESV are the most common large SUVs on American and Mexican roads, which means an armored one does not announce itself. Both hold their third row with armor fitted, so a principal, a security driver and a protection detail fit without splitting the party across vehicles. For multi-vehicle movements and motorcades we run matched units so the package looks like one fleet, not three rentals.

Armor level is not a status ladder. Every level up adds weight, slows the vehicle, and wears the brakes and suspension faster. The correct answer is the lowest level that covers the threat you actually face.
Ballistic components in Armored Collective vehicles are rated to EN 1063 for transparent armor and to VPAM APR for opaque armor. EN 1063 is a component standard, not a vehicle standard: it classifies glazing, not finished cars. The only standard that certifies a complete assembled vehicle, including joints, overlaps and glazing interfaces, is VPAM BRV. Ask any provider which standard and which edition was used, which components were tested, and whether the certificate covers the specific unit or the fleet in general. We will send the certificate for the unit assigned to you.
.44 Remington Magnum and lower handgun threats. The common civilian choice where carjacking or an opportunistic approach is the primary concern, and equivalent to what the Mexican market calls Nivel III, which accounts for the large majority of armored vehicles in the country.
5.56 x 45mm NATO. Intermediate rifle threats. Note that EN 1063 does not include 7.62 x 39mm in its test series. If AK-pattern rifles are in your threat profile, ask for a VPAM VR6 certificate rather than a B5 rating.
We do not operate B6 or B7. B6 is tested against 7.62 x 51mm NATO and carries a real penalty in weight, acceleration and braking. If your risk assessment calls for that level, tell us and we will say so rather than sell you something that does not meet it.
