Armored Collective provides chauffeured armored SUV rental in Puerto Vallarta, operating B4 to B5 Chevrolet Suburbans and Cadillac Escalade ESVs with vetted security drivers across Puerto Vallarta and the Riviera Nayarit. The two form a single working area and most bookings cross between them, which matters because they sit in different states and the drive north is longer than visitors expect.
The work is predominantly private and family travel rather than corporate. The defining request is a clean transfer from the airport to a residence or resort followed by a vehicle held on call for the length of the stay, because the distances along this coast make a summoned vehicle impractical.
Licenciado Gustavo Díaz Ordaz International (PVR) sits north of the city and is convenient to both Puerto Vallarta and the Nayarit resorts. It handles commercial traffic alongside a private aviation operation.
Guadalajara (GDL) is roughly four hours inland by road and is only relevant when connections make it unavoidable.
| From | To | Typical | Peak |
|---|---|---|---|

The drive from Puerto Vallarta airport to Punta Mita typically takes about forty-five minutes north. PVR to the Zona Romántica typically takes about twenty-five minutes south.
Puerto Vallarta including Marina Vallarta, the Zona Romántica, the centro and Conchas Chinas. In Nayarit: Nuevo Vallarta, Bucerías, La Cruz de Huanacaxtle, Punta Mita, Sayulita and San Pancho.
The coastal highway north is the only route to the Nayarit resorts and it passes through several towns with speed restrictions and topes. Punta Mita looks close on a map and takes forty-five minutes from the airport.
The airport sits between the city and the Nayarit coast, which means a southbound guest and a northbound guest have very different transfers from the same arrival. We plan to the destination rather than the airport.
Hurricane season runs June through November and the Pacific coast is exposed. Rainy season through the same months brings heavy afternoon storms that flood the arroyos crossing the coastal road.
Crossing between Jalisco and Nayarit also crosses a time zone boundary, which catches people out on schedules. We work to the destination's local time and confirm it.
High season runs December through April. Christmas, New Year and Easter week are the tightest, and availability along the Nayarit coast in particular is committed well in advance. Summer is quieter and wetter.
Private security in Mexico is regulated federally through the Secretaría de Seguridad y Protección Ciudadana. This market spans Jalisco and Nayarit, so a routine movement crosses state lines and federal registration is the relevant authorisation. Ask any provider to show it.
The Mexican commercial scale begins at Nivel III, covering handgun threats including .44 Magnum, roughly equivalent to B4 under EN 1063. Armored Collective operates B4 and B5 and supplies the certificate for the assigned unit.
Armored Collective runs one vehicle platform type deliberately. The armored Chevrolet Suburban and the bulletproof Cadillac Escalade ESV are the most common large SUVs on American and Mexican roads, which means an armored one does not announce itself. Both hold their third row with armor fitted, so a principal, a security driver and a protection detail fit without splitting the party across vehicles. For multi-vehicle movements and motorcades we run matched units so the package looks like one fleet, not three rentals.

Armor level is not a status ladder. Every level up adds weight, slows the vehicle, and wears the brakes and suspension faster. The correct answer is the lowest level that covers the threat you actually face.
Ballistic components in Armored Collective vehicles are rated to EN 1063 for transparent armor and to VPAM APR for opaque armor. EN 1063 is a component standard, not a vehicle standard: it classifies glazing, not finished cars. The only standard that certifies a complete assembled vehicle, including joints, overlaps and glazing interfaces, is VPAM BRV. Ask any provider which standard and which edition was used, which components were tested, and whether the certificate covers the specific unit or the fleet in general. We will send the certificate for the unit assigned to you.
.44 Remington Magnum and lower handgun threats. The common civilian choice where carjacking or an opportunistic approach is the primary concern, and equivalent to what the Mexican market calls Nivel III, which accounts for the large majority of armored vehicles in the country.
5.56 x 45mm NATO. Intermediate rifle threats. Note that EN 1063 does not include 7.62 x 39mm in its test series. If AK-pattern rifles are in your threat profile, ask for a VPAM VR6 certificate rather than a B5 rating.
We do not operate B6 or B7. B6 is tested against 7.62 x 51mm NATO and carries a real penalty in weight, acceleration and braking. If your risk assessment calls for that level, tell us and we will say so rather than sell you something that does not meet it.
